AJ Allmendinger claims 2022 Xfinity Series Regular-Season Championship

The first 26-races of the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season were a complete rollercoaster for many drivers; Especially Kaulig Racing's AJ Allmendinger. The pilot of the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro, Allmendinger had one heck of a run with 3 victories, 12 top-5's, and 23 top-10's. A DNF count of zero helped with his points status, while a 6.4 average finish is incredibly consistent.

Allmendinger would score the regular-season championship over opponent Ty Gibbs at the end of the "Food City" 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, September 16th.

The driver had said throughout multiple interviews that Kaulig Racing lacked long run speed for a major part of the season, however the results across different track layouts may have stated otherwise: Road courses and ovals alike. Maybe a few more victories could have been added to the veteran driver's win column before the playoffs, but we know that "The Dinger" will not go down without a fight.
