NASCAR's Most Popular driver has finally reached victory lane for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Season, breaking a 26-race long winless streak. Chase Elliott drove his No. 9 Napa Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro to the Monday-race win at Dover Motor Speedway.

The race originally was scheduled for Sunday (05/01/2022), but after the completion of 78-laps, NASCAR stopped the race due to rainy weather. Therefore, the remainder of the 400-mile event would be rescheduled for the following day (05/02/2022).

If you already forgot, as yesterday seems like a long time ago, Chris Buescher started the 2022 "DuraMAX Drydene" 400 on the pole. Scoring his first career pole in the NASCAR Cup Series, and RFK Racing's first of the season. Buescher lead the first 18-laps, before a lap car held the No. 17 car up just enough for Denny Hamlin to speed past for the lead.

Despite Mother Nature trying to shake up the race results early in the going, Hamlin would recycle to the lead after the race returned on Monday, to take the Stage 1 points. Unfortunately, Hamlin would lose a tire after the pit stops during the post-Stage 1 caution, causing him to fall back to the tail end of the field for the restart.

Last week's winner Ross Chastain would then take the green flag to start the second stage. The No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro would lead a handful of laps in Stages' 2 and 3 before settling for a 3rd place finish. Ryan Blaney would take and grab some bonus points with the Stage 2 win.

Chastain's No. 1 car, along with a few others, appeared to have a car to place into victory lane, but as it would turn out, Chase Elliott would pull the monkey of his back, and finally take the checkered flag this season. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. would snag the runner-up position in his No. 47 machine.
