Brown, who is best known for his race win at Talladega, in the Fall of 2021, will return to the track with the sponsor who was by his side for his first career victory. That sponsor, Larry’s Hard Lemonade had plans to continue sponsorship with Brandon Brown and Brandonbilt Motorsports in the 2022 season. Unfortunately, the two parted ways when Brown found an opportunity with the then disapproved and now defunct LGB Coin.
Now as Larry’s Hard Lemonade re-bides their trust in Brandonbilt Motorsports, the pairing hope to steal the checkered flag at a superspeedway again, this time in Daytona.
Brandon Brown’s first win became political and controversial when fans in the grandstands chanted words of anger towards then United States President, Joe Biden. Reporters accidentally coined the phrase “Let’s Go Brandon” while trying to cover up the true words of the race fans. Since then, Brown has primarily been known, because of that chant, and not his undoubtable driving abilities.
Sponsorship has become difficult to find for Brandonbilt Motorsports, and just last week the team announced that Kris Wright would take over driving duties of the No. 68 for eight of the final eleven Xfinity Series races this season. Kris Wright brings funding Brandon Brown could not manage to achieve, an issue that was only worsened by his name’s recent usage. Brandon Brown will maintain driving duties in three of the final eleven races, with this weekend’s “Wawa” 250 marking one of them.
