NASCAR mourns the loss of Steve Richards

    Longtime Pit Reporter for Performance Racing Network, Steve Richards passed away early Wednesday morning after battling complications of COVID-19. Richards contracted the virus shortly before Thanksgiving in mid to late November, and unfortunately lost his battle just before the December holiday. 

In a statement from NASCAR, the group said “For three decades Steve Richards worked to help bring NASCAR  to fans across the country. Through his pit reporting for PRN and various hosting roles, he became a familiar name and voice to fans of the sport. Steve was a friend to many and will be missed dearly.”

Steve Richards was a familiar face at the race track, becoming a valued friend to the many individuals working in the media field. Fans of the PRN race broadcasts will remember his colorful commentary and the excellence Richards strives to achieve. Steve Richards is gone, but not forgotten. Rest In Peace Steve Richards.
