Officials from the ARCA Mendard’s Series listed young drivers Hunter Jack, Luke Fenhaus, Jake Drew and Mason Diaz as recipients of the honor. This honor allows drivers a chance to enter a practice session at Daytona International Speedway on January 14th-15th, where they will make their first ARCA appearance. These individuals were selected based on their on track efforts in 2021, in each of their respective series.
This opportunity for young drivers began in 2012, when as a way for new talent to try their hand at the sport. For the past 10 years, many of successful drivers have risen through the ranks due to the “Road to Daytona” honors.
For many of these drivers, 2022’s “Road to Daytona” marks their first time visiting Daytona International Speedway, and for all of them this will be their first time behind the wheel at the historic superspeedway. The cars that these young drivers will pilot are built and serviced by Andy Hillenburg and his Fast Track Racing team. Hillenburg is best known for his 1995 ARCA Menard's Series title, but was one of stock car racing's biggest under-dog drivers throughout the 1990's and early 2000's. Hillenburg will personally coach each driver as they turn laps at the 2.5 mile race track, dubbed the "World Center of Racing".
