Joe Gibbs Racing releases new Bass Pro Shops paint scheme for Martin Truex Jr.

Joe Gibbs Racing
Monday afternoon (12/6/21) Joe Gibbs Racing released renderings of Martin Truex Jr.'s new Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats & ATVs paint scheme, slated to hit the track for the 2022 race season.

With 2022 marking the beginning of the 'Next Gen' or generation seven era, NASCAR Cup Series race cars will see a whole different composure, including a revised door number placement, clearly seen on Truex's paint scheme above. Rather than the No. 19 sitting on the door panel, near the middle of the car, the No. 19 now sits beneath the A-Post just behind the right front fender. NASCAR makes this change for improved sponsorship canvas size.

Though the layout of the No 19's paint scheme will only receive minor changes, the improved room for sponsorship is noticeable as the Bass Pro Shops and Tracker Off Road & ATVs appear larger than ever on the side of the rendered race car. Additionally, the Bass Pro Shops logo had not previously been placed on the side of the race car, only on the hood. This paint scheme utilizes the increased room.

Martin Truex Jr. is no stranger to change, as the resilient driver has consistently performed during his time at a handful of organizations, and throughout several different eras of racing. After 18 seasons of NASCAR Cup Series competition, the Next Gen era is just one more chapter in the book for this veteran driver.
