Kyle Busch had officially won his 100th NASCAR Xfinity Series race, as he has won the Xfinity Series “Tennessee Lotery” 250 at Nashville Superspeedway.
As NASCAR headed to Music City’s Nashville Superspeedway for the first time since 2011, the racing has not disappointed. For a second week in a row the victory has come down to two drivers; Kyle Busch and Justin Allgaier. Interestingly enough, in the past two races Justin Allgaier has failed to hold off a hard charging Kyle Busch, and in both cases Busch has been able to win.
In this race there was a lot of beating and banging to be seen between drivers like Jade Buford and Joe Graf Jr.. but some of the most entertaining and most wreckingist moments of this race came with 29 laps to go in the race. Justina Allgaier driving a loose No. 7 Camaro was trying to keep up with the No. 54 of Kyle Busch, and just barely holding on. Behind the leaders was the No. 18 of Daniel Hemric, and the No. 1 of Michael Annett. Hemric got down into Annett, sending the No. 1 Camaro all over the track and eventually hitting the No. 22 of Austin.Cindric. This impact was hard enough to end Austin Cindric’s day, as he DNFd with a 32nd place finish.
The ending of this race was what I would call a photo-finish, not due to the leaders, but for an unexpected individual. Tyler Reddick driving the No. 31 car for Jordan Anderson Racing, in only the team’s 5th Xfinity Series start was running 12th place on the final lap. That was until the No. 31 got a shot from the back and was sent spinning through the infield and backwards across the finish line. With dust and grass flying everywhere the team still notched a 15th place finish. Jordan Anderson Racing (for the most part) has showed some impressive speed within their first five starts.
In this race, Austin Cindric won stage 1, and Kyle Busch won stage 2.
