Rette Jones Racing announced Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 11, 2022 that Frankie Muniz will join the ARCA Menards series driving the No. 30 Ford Mustang, full-time in 2023.

Muniz who starred in FOX’s sitcom ‘Malcolm in the Middle’, playing the character Malcolm throughout the 2000’s will be getting a big chance in the stock car racing scene.

Taking over the seat of Amber Balcean for the 2023 racing season, Rette Jones Racing will provide a mid-tier opportunity for the acting star turned race car driver.

Muniz has long participated in the sport of auto racing, making what is known to be his first start in 2011, driving in the SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup. Since then he has made sporadic starts in other sports car racing events.

Muniz first found himself in the ranks of national stock car racing in 2022, when he participated in preseason ARCA testing with the team he is now slated to join.

“It’s with the utmost excitement, optimism and gratitude that I’m joining Rette Jones Racing for the full ARCA Menards Series schedule this year,” Muniz said in the team’s press release.

“Ever since childhood, it’s been my dream to pursue racing in NASCAR, and it was important for me to partner with a team that aligned with my long-term objectives and vision while providing every opportunity imaginable to grow mentally and physically as a full-time race car driver” the driver continued.

While understandable growing pains will occur for Frankie Muniz as he jumps headfirst into ARCA, his name will likely garner high hopes.

Rette Jones Racing prepares for this upcoming season saying that they have continued their longtime partnership with Ford Performance, and will upgrade their racing fleet to include the Ford Mustang in 2023.

As of writing this article there has not been any sponsors revealed for Frankie Muniz and the No. 30 team. Details of sponsorship will likely be revealed at a later date.
