Brad Keselowski becomes partial owner of Roush Fenway Racing

It was announced moments ago that Roush Fenway Racing will effectively become Roush-Fenway-Keselowski Racing, as Brad Keselowski, 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion, has obtained partial ownership in the team and that he will drive the No. 6 Mustang. Keselowski, a Cup Series veteran and regular will now race for Roush-Fenway Racing, just a week after Team Penske announced Brad Keselowski's departure from the the No. 2 car at the end of the 2021 season.

Roush Fenway Racing, a major team in the NASCAR Cup Series has great amounts of history behind it. Legendary and popular drivers like Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and others raced for this team winning back to back Cup Series Championships in 2003 and 2004, and for a time boasting the Cup Series largest race organization with five full time teams. After multiple rounds of downsizing, the team currently fields two cars, the No. 17 (driven by Chris Buescher), and the No. 6 (driven by Ryan Newman). Coming into the 2022 season it is unclear whether or not these drivers will obtain a ride with Roush-Fenway-Keselowski Racing, or move on to further endeavors.

With this deal occurring, this effectively makes yet another owner driver with Brad Keselowski, adding his name to the list of others like Richard Petty, Tony Stewart, Junior Johnson, Kyle Busch, Alan Kulwicki, Buck Baker, and many many more. At the moment the number or any sponsorship that Keselowski expects to display on his car is unknown. Be sure to check back with Stock Car Media as we will be posting updates as this story further develops.

UPDATE: Roush Fenway Racing notes that Ryan Newman will not be returning to the team in 2022, and that Chris Buescher has no contract, therefore his future with the team also appears to be up in the air.
