Tyler Reddick has cracked into victory lane for the first time in his NASCAR Cup Series career, scoring a thrilling win over Chase Elliott at Road America on Sunday, July 3rd. Reddick's win just shook the playoff bubble, making only 3 spots left in the playoff field at the moment.

The win was a long time coming for Reddick, in now 92 NASCAR Cup Series starts, he has had a win, 5 runner-up finishes inside of 11 top-5 finishes, and 33 top-10 finishes. The 2020 Rookie of the Year award narrowly slipped away when Cole Custer managed to pull off a win. So, the victory went to a very deserving winner.

Chase Elliott, who also won the pole for the race, had dominated the race, just made a few minor mistakes and Reddick took advantage. Chase Briscoe won the Stage 1 points, while just about everyone else short-pitted the stage break for position on the restart. The same scenario played out at the end of Stage 2, leaving a winless Ryan Blaney to pick up some stage points.

The road course victory by Reddick was Richard Childress Racing's first since Kevin Harvick won at Watkins Glen International in 2006.
