Christopher Bell wins pole at Talladega: Starting lineup for the 2022 Cup Series "Geico" 500

    For just the second time in his NASCAR Cup Series career, Christopher Bell wins the pole position to start the race. This time, at Talladega Superspeedway.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver had the fastest speeds in both of the two qualifying sessions, topping the leaderboard with a final lap-time of 52.927 seconds (180.928 MPH) over second-fastest Martin Truex, Jr, who clocked in a lap-time of 53.008 seconds (180.652 MPH). Daniel Hemric, Daniel Suarez, and defending champion Kyle Larson round out the top-5 in starting positions.
