William Byron to bring Jeff Gordon throwback paint scheme to Darlington

    Hendrick Motorsports announced on Wednesday morning (04/20/2022) that William Byron will pilot a very familiar paint scheme on his No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro in this year's throwback race at Darlington Raceway.

Byron's No. 24 car will be dressed in the colors of Jeff Gordon's 2007 ride, just trading the old DuPont sponsorship for the Axalta branding. Gordon, a 4-time NASCAR Winston Cup Series Champion, won 6 races that season but would lose the championship to Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson.

The "Goodyear" 400 at Darlington Raceway will take place on Sunday, May 8th. Live race coverage will begin at 3:30 PM EST on FOX Sports 1.
