Clinching the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs for the first time in his brief career, Ty Gibbs pulled off the win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 5th. The victory was his 5th in the series, as four came during his part-time effort during the 2021 season.
Gibbs may have won the race, but not necessarily in the cleanest fashion. Early in the going, Gibbs made some overly aggressive maneuvers while in heavy race traffic, as he had to start the race in the back of the field. He would go on to make contact with Ryan Sieg, who was minding his own business and having a good run, sending the driver/team owner into the fence and ending what could have been a top-10 finish in the first stage. Sieg wasn't very happy about the incident, calling the younger driver, in a sense, a "Silver-spoon kid".
The incident would help bring out the first caution of the event on lap number five but would not be the only incident between the two drivers.
On lap 30, Ryan Sieg attempted to retaliate against Gibbs by moving him all the way up the track. The driver of his own No. 39 machine had been black flagged by NASCAR for not meeting minimum speed due to the damage Gibbs had caused. Sieg would spend the remainder of his day inside the NASCAR Xfinity Series Officials hauler, only to see the driver who helped end his day, win the race.
On a much brighter note, the JR Motorsports drivers had a phenomenal race, three of the four drivers leading laps at some point during the race. Las Vegas-native Noah Gragson would lead 52 laps, winning Stage's 1 and 2. Justin Allgaier led more laps than any other driver, a total of 62-laps. Sam Mayer held the top spot for 25-laps, and Josh Berry being the only one not to lead a lap. Gragson would finish runner-up, while Berry and Allgaier was respectively scored 4th and 5th.
Something interesting that happened during the race was when the event was put under red flag conditions on lap-20 when snow started to fall on the speedway.

Update: Joe Graf, Jr's 29th place finish has been disqualified after three loose and/or missing lugs nuts were found on his machine, causing it to fail post-race tech inspection.
