As the "Carolina Chaos" embark on a historical first year, the team will access Winston-Salem, North Carolinas' "Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum", as they join local sports leagues in use of the 14,600 capacity multi-purpose arena. Although this news has nothing to do with NASCAR racing, the NASCAR professionals at Richard Childress Racing who will run this team, are related to the sport.
Richard Childress Racing is a historically popular race team, competing in NASCAR's national series. Richard Childress Racing has been home to legendary, and Championship winning drivers such as the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr., Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman, Ward Burton, Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon, and others. Many remember the team for the great sadness they were a part of as the beloved Dale Earnhardt Sr. tragically lost his life in the final laps of the 2001 Daytona 500.
This new PBR team will join seven other teams who are entering the brand new league in 2022, this includes:
- Ariat Texas Rattlers, based in Fort Worth, Texas, owned by the Fisher family
- Arizona Ridge Riders, based in Glendale, Arizona, owned by Teton Ridge
- Austin Gamblers, based in Austin, Texas, owned by Egon Durban
- Carolina Chaos, based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, owned by the league and operated by Richard Childress Racing
- Kansas City Outlaws, based in Kansas City, Missouri, owned by Pulley Outlaws LLC
- Missouri Thunder, based in Ridgedale, Missouri, owned by Johnny Morris
- Nashville Stampede, based in Nashville, Tennesee, owned by Morris Communications Company
- Oklahoma Freedom, based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, owned by the league and operated by Prodigal
