The team, which has fielded Chevrolet's since it's entrance into the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2017, will now join forces with Stewart-Haas Racing, becoming one of only a few teams in in the series bringing Ford to the track. Albeit, a decent performing team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, SS Green Light Racing surely has room for improvement; improvement that could be expedited by consistency of personnel, and new assistance from Stewart-Haas Racing.
After finishing 28th in the standings for the 2021 season, SS Green Light Racing, and Joe Graf Jr. could be the company to beat as they gain new assistance in 2022. With Roush Yates Engines beneath the hood of the No. 07, and additional technical support from Stewart-Haas Racing in 2022, the team is bound to see improvement.
When asked about these exciting 2022 plans, Joe Graf, Jr. commented stating "I am so stoked for the new opportunities in 2022,"
"Our new relationship with Stewart-Haas Racing and Ford will allow us to continue to grow and improve as a team and hopefully give us the opportunity to showcase our ability in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at our highest level yet."
As Stewart-Haas Racing provides assitance for SS Green Light Racing in 2022, something will be expected in return. As a stipulation of this deal, Stewart-Haas Racing drivers Chase Briscoe and Cole Custer will gain seat time behind the wheel of a second full-time entry from SS Green Light Racing. Custer will compete with the team at the Xfinity Series level for a total of four races in 2022, while Briscoe will only come aboard for one.
