Yesterday evening (4/8/21) NASCAR Cup Series champion, Joey Logano’s, throwback paint scheme for the upcoming throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway was revealed.
Joey Logano will drive this red and white Pennzoil/Shell paint scheme, which references the paint scheme that racing legend, Mario Andretti ran during first career victory in the Formula 1 racing series (see below).
Andretti scored his first F1 victory in the March 1971 South African Grand Prix. Andretti entered this race with Ferrari, filling in for the fatally injured Ignazio Giunti.
You can catch this paint scheme hit the track on Sunday, May 9th, during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway. The race will begin at 3:30 PM ET, and will be aired live on FOX Sports 1.
