Rheem continues sponsorship with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2022, sponsoring Bell and Busch

Joe Gibbs Racing announced Thursday morning (1/6/22) that Rheem, a provider of gas furnaces, air conditioners, and air handlers, will continue their sponsorship with the team, entering their 15th year of sponsorship in NASCAR.

Rheem will continue to bring funding for Christopher Bell and Kyle Busch, sponsoring the No. 20 and No. 18 Camrys respectively. Bell who won in 2021, coming out victorious in only his second race with Joe Gibbs Racing’s Cup operation, will likely rely on Rheem’s funding more than Busch. Kyle Busch on the other hand has a significant amount of his season sponsored by Mars Incorporated (who will step out after 2022), but we now know that some of his season will be funded by Rheem. Stanley Black & Decker will likely also play a role in funding for both drivers in 2022.

When asked about celebrating Rheem's 15th season in the series, Joe Gibbs, Owner of Joe Gibbs Racing said “We are honored to be able to help celebrate Rheem’s 15th consecutive season as a sponsor in NASCAR’s top three national Series,”. “Rheem continues to serve as a tremendous example of an extremely successful program in our sport and we’re proud to be able to support their efforts on and off the track.”

Rheem scored their first win in NASCAR's top division all the way back in 2007 when Kevin Harvick and Richard Childress Racing won the Daytona 500, Rheem was one of the No. 29 team's associate sponsors. As this article is written, Rheem most recently won in the NASCAR Cup Series with Christopher Bell at the Dayton Road Course in 2021, but more will likely be scored somewhere down the line. To commemorate Rheem's 15th year in the sport, Christopher Bell will run a 15th anniversary decal on the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 Camry during the 2022 race season.

The number of races that Christopher Bell and Kyle Busch will sport the red and black Rheem colors is not yet known, although allocation for both drivers may be announced in the near future. A new Rheem paint scheme with updated door numbers, and graphics can be expected to see it’s release in the upcoming months.
