Wheaties to honor 23XI Racing owner Michael Jordan, and to sponsor Bubba Wallace at Auto Club Speedway

Wheaties/23XI Racing
It was announced Monday (12/13/2021), that Wheaties, a popular brand of breakfast cereal will be joining 23XI Racing as sponsor in 2022, adorning the No. 23 car at Auto Club Speedway on February 27th, 2022.

The General Mills cereal brand, Wheaties has paid tribute to many sports icons throughout the years, featuring athletes on the outside of their cereal boxes. In 2022, which will mark Wheaties' 100th Anniversary, the brand will feature basketball legend Michael Jordan on their cereal boxes for a record 19th time. Jordan's appearance on the box will serve as part of a year-long commemorative celebration being held by the company. Additionally, Wheaties will partner will 23XI Racing, co-owned by Jordan and NASCAR Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin, during the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season.

On February 14th, 23XI Racing's driver Bubba Wallace, will join forces with Wheaties for their 100th Anniversary celebration, delivering the newly minted "Michael Jordan Gold Foil Wheaties Box" to a handful of Jordan super-fans, fellow athletes and friends. Wallace will be easy to spot while cruising around Charlotte, North Carolina, as he will be driving a street legal Wheaties-branded Toyota Camry -- presumably resembling the paint scheme which the team will bring to Auto Club Speedway.

Wheaties is known for sponsoring NASCAR drivers in the past. Most notably the brand of breakfast cereal sponsored "The Intimidator" Dale Earnhardt Sr. in 1996, adorning the No. 3 with their pale orange colors (see below). Dale Earnhadt would also be featured on the Wheaties cereal box, becoming the first NASCAR driver to earn such privilege. Wheaties also sponsored NASCAR drivers such as John Andretti, back when he drove Richard Petty's No. 43.

Wheaties Cereal will be the primary sponsor on the No. 23 Toyota Camry at Auto Club Speedway in February. Bubba Wallace will return behind the wheel of the No. 23 machine in 2022, for what will be his second season with 23XI Racing, and his sixth in the NASCAR Cup Series.
