It was announced Monday morning (12/13/21) that long time NASCAR driver, Todd Bodine will make his return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for six races with Halmar Friesen Racing in 2022.

Todd Bodine, who may be known by young NASCAR fans for his key role at FOX Sports' NASCAR Race Hub, also has a prestigious racing career behind his name. In his 794 race starts in NASCAR's top-three series Bodine has scored a grand total of 37 victories (Truck and Busch Series) as well as a whopping 185 top-ten finishes. Additionally, Todd Bodine has earned two championships in the (Camping World) Truck Series, respectively in 2006 and 2010.

It appeared that Bodine would not return behind the wheel of any of the three NASCAR National Series, until a social media post in September by Marcus Lemonis, the CEO of Camping World, Good Sam and Overton’s, challenged Bodine to become one of the few drivers to complete 800 starts across the top NASCAR competition.

Fans of Bodine had been asked to give Lemonis 800 reasons, with hopes of convincing the ‘NASCAR Philanthropist’ to help Bodine reach that milestone of 800 NASCAR National Series starts. On the 1st of October, Lemonis announced that he had received mor than 800 reasons for Bodine’s return.

The next day, on FOX Sports' NASCAR Race Hub, Bodine officially announced his return for six races in the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.

Because of that challenge, Bodine will make his six Truck Series starts in a Halmar Friesen Racing Toyota Tundra. He will run alongside of Stewart Friesen at the tracks below:

  • Las Vegas - March 4th, 2022
  • Darlington - May 6th, 2022
  • Texas - May 20th, 2022
  • Sonoma - June 11th, 2022
  • Nashville - June 24th, 2022
  • Pocono - July 23rd, 2022
Sponsorship is all set, as Camping World has signed on to sponsor each of the six events for Bodine. The truck number that Bodine will compete under has not been unveiled, but is expected to be announced in the near future.
