After a 5-year run at DGM Racing, Josh Williams (who is a familiar name in the NASCAR Xfinity Series) has unveiled the news that he will not return to the team for the 2022 season. Williams, 28 years of age, has become a namesake in this national division of stock car racing, often sporting a different paint schemes from week to week to make 'sponsorship ends' meet. A wheel-man like Williams may have some opportunities in his sights, especially considering his the decent statistics he's managed to incur over the past several seasons.
Williams signed on to drive for DGM Racing as a part-time driver in 2017, and would return a couple of seasons later to run a full season with the team in 2019. Together, Josh Williams and DGM Racing have scored eight top-10 finishes, 27 top-15 finishes and whopping 56 top-20 finishes throughout 125 starts over the past five years.
No plans for Williams' replacement in the No. 92 have been disclosed as of now, but the team expects to make a formal announcement at a later date. Josh Williams' 2022 plans have not yet been unveiled, but the 28 year-old is expected to make an announcement in the coming week. Where those plans might be are currently unknown, but it's safe to say that his racing career is far from over.
