It was announced moments ago that Josh Berry, one of JR Motorsports’ current part time drivers this season, will return to drive the No. 8 Camaro full time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the 2022 season.
Berry, who is older than most has worked his way up through the ranks slowly but surely with JR Motorsports. Josh Berry has driven late models full time for JR Motorsports in NASCAR Weekly Series and has come out a champion. Because of this success he was slated to drive roughly half of the Xfinity Series schedule for in the team’s No. 8 car this season, sharing the remainder of the season with Sam Mayer, Miguel Paluldo, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.. In only 16 starts Berry was able to score eleven Top-10 finishes, four Top-5 finishes, and a single victory at Martinsville Speedway earlier this season. Some of these starts came with Jordan Anderson Racing’s newly formed Xfinity Series team, as he has filled the seat on and off since his part time schedule at JR Motorsports has needed. Because of his immense success this season alone Josh Berry was able to make his first Cup Series start driving the Spire Motorsports No. 77 Camaro, because Justin Haley could not attend that weekend’s race due to COVID-19 protocol.
Next to 18 year old driver Sam Mayer who is filling the seat of the No. 8 Camaro, Josh Berry’s skill set, and race results are far more promising. With any luck JR Motorsports’ dominant equipment will give Berry a chance at many more extraordinary finishes, including more wins.
NEWS: @joshberry to enter full time @NASCAR_Xfinity Series competition in 2022.
