John Hunter Nemechek, driver for Kyle Busch Motorsports, had clinched the regular-season championship title after the July 9th race at Knokville Raceway.
Of the 10 driver playoff field, includes two former Truck champions: Sheldon Creed and Matt Crafton.

- Todd Gilliland [No. 38 Ford / Front Row Motorsports] 2015 Points / 1 Win
- Sheldon Creed [No. 2 Chevrolet / GMS Racing] 2011 Points / 1 Win
- Zane Smith [No. 21 Chevrolet / GMS Racing] 2009 Points
- Matt Crafton [No. 88 Toyota / ThorSport Racing] 2004 Points,
- Carson Hocevar [No. 42 Chevrolet / Niece Motorsports] 2002 Points
- Chandler Smith [No. 18 Toyota / Kyle Busch Motorsports] 2001 Points
- Stewart Friesen [No. 52 Toyota / Halmar Friesen Racing] 2001 Points
If you were wondering, the Truck Series playoff field will consist of:
- 6 Toyota drivers,
- 3 Chevrolet drivers
- 1 Ford driver.
