The No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Austin Dillon, will be decorated in the colors of Fireball Roberts' No. 3 Pontiac in the late 1950's.
Roberts' drove the No. 3 Pontiac for only 2 races for owner Jim Stephens in 1959, before changing back to his normal number, the 22. Roberts' had a total of 33 NASCAR Cup Series wins before his untimely death after injuries obtained from a fiery crash at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The Richard Childress Racing driver will race this Fireball Roberts tribute scheme in the "Goodyear” 400, on Sunday, May 9th, at Darlington Raceway. Live coverage of the throwback race will begin at 3:30 PM EST, and will be aired on FOX Sports 1.
