Playoff Projections: Alex Bowman & Post-Richmond

Alex Bowman brought the No. 48 to victory lane for the first time since Jimmie Johnson's last win at Dover in 2017.

Bowman’s win in the "Toyota Owners" 400, became his 3rd career victory in the NASCAR Cup Series. This was just what Bowman needed, but the race at Richmond moved around a few drivers in our Top-16.

- Who has moved around in the Top 16?

Denny Hamlin is still running away with the points lead, and the Top-3 all stayed in their places, but somebody else is on the move. William Byron continues his impressive 2021 season, as he climbs up the leaderboard, and into 4th place in points.

- Who is new, or has returned to the Top-16?

Alex Bowman's win moved him back into the Top 16, and he currently sits in 13th in the standings.

- Who has left the Top-16?

Our Daytona 500 champion, Michael McDowell, has officially left the Top-16 in points. McDowell has dropped to 17th in points, but Matt DiBenedetto (and others) will be hungry for a win at Talladega next week.... McDowell better watch out!
