This afternoon (2/20/21) Richard Petty Motorsports released their new United States Air Force paint scheme for the No. 43 of Erik Jones.
As previously announced our article “The US Airforce continues sponsorship with the Richard Petty Motorsports and the No. 43” , the United States Air Force will sponsor the Richard Petty Motorsports No. 43 for two races this season. These two races are; the “Geico” 500 at Talladega Superspeedway (April 25th), and “Bass Pro Shops Night Race” at Bristol Motor Speedway (September 18th).
The United States Air Force first entered NASCAR as a sponsor for Wood Brothers Racing and the No. 21 back in 2001, though for the past 13 years the United States Air Force has sponsored Richard Petty Motorsports in some shape or form.
This paint scheme honors the Tuskegee Airmen, who were a group of most African American men who fought in the US Airforce during World War II. The No. 43 is painted up to closely resemble the aircraft below:
You can catch this paint scheme hit the track this on Sunday, April 25th, during the "Geico" 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The race will begin at 2:00 PM ET, and will be aired live on FOX.
As a homage to the original trailblazers, the Tuskegee Airmen, @Erik_Jones' No. 43 @USAFRecruiting Chevy isn’t just a visual cue, but a reminder that great things can happen when we celebrate our differences!
