Yesterday evening (3/7/21) AJ Allmendinger scored his 6th victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, by winning the Alsco Uniforms 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
AJ Allmendinger had a fast Camaro, as he was in the top-5 for most of the day, and took the lead on lap 138/200, he held onto it for a majority of the remaining 62 laps. Some of the drivers who challenged Allmendinger’s victory were the No. 22 of Austin Cindric, the No. 18 of Daniel Hemric, and at times the No. 19 of Brandon Jones.
One of the most notable incidents that occurred during this race was when the No. 54 of Ty Dillon collided with the No. 98 of Riley Herbst on the backstretch, during lap 55. This incident brought out the yellow flag.
Another significant incident including Ty Dillon was when during lap 180, Ty Dillon in the No. 54 ran the No. 02 of Brett Moffitt into the wall. Apparently, the No. 54 team was switching out batteries on their headsets, meaning that the Ty Dillon was without a spotter. This incident also brought out the yellow flag.
Overall this race was fairly decent. Like the truck race before it, there was hard some hard racing, but really there wasn’t an abundance of cautions.
The No. 22 of Austin Cindric won stage 1, the No. 18 of Daniel Hemric won stage 2, and of course the No. 16 of AJ Allmendinger won stage 3.
