Ben Rhodes in the No. 99 won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series “BrakeBest Brake Pads” 159 on the road course at the Daytona International Speedway, after three overtime attempts.
This race was scheduled to begin during a rain storm, which would normally delay a race, but since this race was being run on a road course, teams were allowed to race with rain tires and a windshield wipers. Around halfway through this race, as the track began to dry, teams were able to return to the normal slicks, and they continued to do so for the remainder of the race. John Hunter Nemechek in the No. 4 won stage 1, Raphael Lessard in the No. 24 won stage 2, and of course Ben Rhodes in the No. 99 won stage 3.
This win is Ben Rhodes’ second victory of the 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, as he also won the series opener last week. Rhodes’ victory was also Toyota’s 200th win in the series.
