With this Spring’s Food City Dirt Race (Mar. 28th) at Bristol Motor Speedway, Tide and Food City will team up to sponsor Erik Jones in the iconic Richard Petty Motorsports No. 43. Tide has been involved in the sport since 1987 when they joined forces with NASCAR Hall Of Famer Darrell Waltrip in the No. 17, and later on with Ricky Rudd in the No. 5 and the No. 10.
Bristol Motor Speedway will spend their 60th anniversary this year by transforming the normally paved speedway into a dirt track for their spring race on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule. This Spring’s Bristol dirt race will be the first NASCAR Cup Series race on a dirt track since 1970, when the Cup Series last visited the State Fairgrounds Speedway in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Bass Pro Shops Night Race on September 18th will not be on the Dirt track, instead back on the paved surface.
