In collaboration with Upfield’s plant based spread, known as “Country Crock”, the group will bring a brown and white Camaro to the NASCAR throwback weekend. The paint scheme features a grilled cheese sandwich showcasing Sara Lee Artesano bread and Country Crock spread, among a swipe of brown that matches Jarrett’s original look.
"Seeing the 2001 UPS scheme, brings back a lot of memories for me. Ricky (Stenhouse Jr.) won the Daytona 500 this year, and now he's running my paint scheme." Dale Jarrett said in a prepared statement with the team.
"It couldn't get any better. I really think the world of Ricky and I have a great relationship with Brad (Daugherty) and I think a lot of Tad (Geschickter) and I'm impressed with the team" the driver also said.
Dale Jarrett, who is the son of NASCAR pioneer Ned Jarrett is a highly accredited driver. Winning the 1999 NASCAR Cup Series Championship, three “Daytona” 500 races and being inducted to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2014, Jarrett career is of prominence.
Winning four times with UPS and Yates Racing in 2001, the former No. 88 driver sets a precedent that Stenhouse and the No. 47 team can look to achieve in the 2023 season.
The flagship JTG Daugherty Racing team has scored seven top-15 finishes and one win, only 11 races into the 2023 season. This winning action is a step forward for both JTG Daugherty Racing and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., as it’s something neither has done since 2014 and 2017, respectively.
The No. 47 team will not be the only group honoring Jarrett this season, as Ross Chastain and Trackhouse Racing being a UPS/Worldwide Express throwback to Darlington.
