Chase Briscoe gets new multi-year deal with Stewart-Haas Racing

Stewart-Haas Racing is looking into their NASCAR Cup Series future lineup quite seriously, as they should be at this time. Kevin Harvick's looming retirement at the end of the season, and the unknowns of Aric Almirola's plans for next year. One thing that the organization has set beyond the 2023 season is one thing, and it has to do with Chase Briscoe.

The team announced on Thursday morning (01/26/2023), that Chase Briscoe will indeed return to pilot the No. 14 Ford Mustang for 2023 and beyond. The young and scrappy driver has many competitive racing years ahead of him and I'm sure Stewart-Haas Racing did not want to have a chance at loosing Briscoe on their roster.

Briscoe started his NASCAR Cup Series career replacing Clint Bowyer in the No. 14 Ford Mustang for 2021. Despite a disappointing year for the rookie, he did pick up the 2021 "Rookie of the Year" Award. The 2022 season, the first with the NASCAR Generation 7 "NEXT GEN" car, would lead into a win and a handful of top-10 finishes for Briscoe. One thing that stood out was a deep playoff run, which ended inside the "Round of 8", just falling short of a win to advance to the Championship race.

Sponsorship for Briscoe does not seem to be a current issue for him to stay in the No. 14 ride, as Stewart-Haas Racing probably would not have signed a large, multi-year extension for him. As for teammates in the next few seasons, drivers may come and go from Stewart-Haas Racing. Nothing is set in stone for Aric Almirola next season. Ryan Preece has a lot to work for in 2023. The teams's NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers Cole Custer and Riley Herbst could be a part of those plans, yet neither is even close to being put into the 2024 team plans as of current.

The future looks bright for Chase Briscoe and the No. 14 car. Within a few years, he could become a constant championship threat, especially if he did not already win a title. However, Chase Briscoe has made his home at Stewart-Haas Racing for a while and will be going nowhere anytime soon.
