Kurt Busch stepping away from full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition in 2023: Will not race rest of season

NASCAR Cup Series veteran driver Kurt Busch has unveiled some much-anticipated news for his plans in 2023: which are not to return full-time racing in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Champion will not return to drive the No. 45 Toyota Camry next year, and for the remainder of the 2022 season. The decision was made based on his health after a crash earlier this year at Pocono Raceway set him out of the driver's seat due to concussion-like symptoms. He will look to get himself back into good health before attempting another race in the future.

Here is the official statement Kurt Busch released on social media:

It is expected for Tyler Reddick to resume the driving duties of the No. 45 Toyota Camry in 2023, as it appears that 23XI Racing has bought out his current contract that would have kept Reddick at Richard Childress Racing until the end of 2023.

As for Kurt Busch, his semi-retirement the end of an era is now upon the world of NASCAR.
