ThorSport Racing's Ty Majeski has just punched his ticket to Phoenix Raceway in November, a ticket to compete for the 2022 NASCAR Truck Series championship title. Majeski had took the victory at Bristol Motor Speedway in the "UNOH" 200 on Thursday evening (09/15/2022), claiming his first checkered flag in the stock truck racing series.

Big championship contenders John Hunter Nemechek and Zane Smith ran into issues during the practice and qualifying sessions. With Nemechek going to a backup machine and Smith with unapproved adjustments, both had to start the race at the end of the field. Both used the pit cycle to gain track position.

Chandler Smith, who had won this event last year, scored both Stage victories, and gained a bunch of valuable points on his competitors. Smith led for 89-laps, however, he would round out the race in 9th.

On the final restart, Zane Smith and Majeski held the front row, but Smith could not launch as well on the bottom lane, allowing the No. 66 Tundra to pull away with the lead and the win.

After the checkered flag dropped, Majeski drove around the track backwards, doing the "Polish Victory Lap" to celebrate his win. The "Polish Victory Lap" was something NASCAR Cup Series legend and 1992 Champion Alan Kulwicki had begun in the sport. Kulwicki had perished in an airplane crash near Bristol Motor Speedway in April of 1993.
