Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis had announced the Camping World brand would not renew their contract as the entitlement sponsor for the NASCAR Truck Series in 2023. It had been reported that NASCAR has known of the departure for “some time,” and that former series sponsor Craftsman had been the leading candidate to take on the series name. After the departure of Craftsman in 2008, the series then became the Camping World Truck Series. The company shifted its branding to the Gander RV / Outdoors naming for two seasons (2019 & 2020) before returning to the Camping World Truck Series name last season.
Craftsman began their sponsorship in NASCAR in 1996 with the "Craftsman Truck Series". The tool brand was then owned by Sears before they ended their premier partnership of the series at the end of 2008. Now Craftsman returns under the Stanley, Black & Decker tool group management. We know that the partnership begins next season, but the contract length in unknown.
