Corey Heim had a very successful race day with his No. 51 Toyota Tundra team of Kyle Busch Motorsports, as the truck started and finished in the same place at Worldwide Technology Raceway; in first.

Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Chandler Smith went out and won the Stage 1 points, continuing a strong showing for the organization at Gateway. Heim and Smith's teammate John Hunter Nemechek did not finish the race due to contact with Austin Wayne Self and the Damaged Vehicle Policy instated by NASCAR, parked the No. 4 truck for the day.

Reigning NASCAR Truck Series champion Ben Rhodes picked up the Stage 2 victory and led 43-laps, which was more than anyone else. Chandler Smith was close with 40-laps led. Corey Heim and whoever else led laps led 20-laps or less.

Christian Eckes appeared to have the win in sight, only to have a caution flag fly for the No. 15 truck of Tanner Gray. Heim would then get passed Eckes to the lead on the restart and won the race.

The race finish would get re-arranged by NASCAR, who dropped the yellow flag after the white flag due to a crash involving Carson Hocevar. Hocevar had a very hard hit as Tyler Hill's No. 5 truck slammed into the driver's side door, as the No. 42 had spun due to contact with another drivers.
