AJ Allmendinger the "Road Course Ringer" strikes again, winning a very hectic NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Portland International Speedway on Saturday, June 3rd. Leading only 6-laps, Allmendinger scraped by for his second victory of the 2022 Season.

Anthony Alfredo, who was the polesitter, didn't even lead the first lap, as rookie Sheldon Creed got passed him to lead a lap before Ty Gibbs squeezed by to lead a string of 42-laps. Gibbs also won Stage 1.

An interesting turn of events came for Gibbs, as the No. 34 car of Jesse Iwuji crashed the No. 54 machine while he was leading. Iwuji was multiple laps down at this point, so it makes the situation very interesting. Gibbs eventually finished the race in 7th, but still threw a fit in his post-race interview about the overly aggressive racing by Iwuji. The way Gibbs was raced by the No. 34 is usually how Gibbs races the entire NASCAR Xfinity Series field, giving him a taste of his own medicine.

Myatt Snider, who won Stage 2 for Jordan Anderson Racing, almost won the organizations first-ever NASCAR National Series win, just falling a bit short when he lost the lead to AJ Allmendinger on the final restart. However, he scored a runner-up finish, making it the team's best finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

There were 9 total cautions that flew during the race, and 26 of the 75-laps were ran under yellow flag conditions.
