Martin Truex Jr. returning to Joe Gibbs Racing for 2023 season

    Martin Truex Jr. revealed via press release Friday evening (6/24/2021) that he will return to Joe Gibbs Racing's NASCAR operation for the 2023 race season, presumably retaining his position driving the No. 19 Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Martin Truex Jr. who is a NASCAR Cup Series Champion and a championship caliber driver was born on June 29th of 1980. The New Jersey native is 41 years of age, and has recently found himself at a troubling turning point in his career, as Truex contemplates his future in the sport. Now, Martin Truex Jr. has officially made the commitment to stay in America's highest level of stock car racing, and remain with "Coach", Joe Gibbs.


Throughout his career in the NASCAR Cup Series, Truex, a veteran driver has accumulated 601 starts, 31 victories, and a whopping 135 top-five finishes. Martin Truex Jr. will return to the touring racing series next season, in an attempt to add to those statistics.


Although it is not confirmed, it is expected that Bass Pro Shops, who has sponsored Martin Truex Jr. throughout the majority of his career will return for the 2023 season and continue to sponsor Truex's racing efforts.
