Sam Mayer wins Xfinity "Dash 4 Cash" at Richmond

    Young-gun race car driver Sam Mayer took home a large paycheck after the 2022 "ToyotaCare" 250 at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, April 2nd. The JR Motorsports driver scored not only his highest finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (3rd Place), but he also won the Xfinity "Dash 4 Cash" prize this weekend.


Drivers AJ Allmendinger, Austin Hill, Noah Gragson, and Sam Mayer were eligible for the Xfinity "Dash 4 Cash" prize at the end of today's race. They were eligible based on the finish at Circuit of the Americas race and consisting of points-eligible driver for the NASCAR Xfinity Series. So, only drivers racing for championship points in the series was eligible for the chance to compete for this prize.


Gragson showed his strength early at Richmond, finishing 2nd in the Stage 1, only to eventually fall off the lead lap due to brake failure. AJ Allmendinger, last week's winner at COTA, was in the hunt to pocket the cash, until Sam Mayer blew right past him in the final stages of the race. So, Sam Mayer picked up the $100,000 prize for his No. 1 JR Motorsports team.


At the finish of today's NASCAR Xfinity Series race, race winner Ty Gibbs, Sam Mayer, AJ Allmendinger, and Riley Herbst will compete for next week's "Dash 4 Cash" prize at Martinsville Raceway.
