After a dominate afternoon, JR Motorsports driver Noah Gragson brought his No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro to victory lane
at Phoenix Raceway on Saturday, March 13. After a long green flag run of over 100 laps to the finish, the teams would have to rely on pit strategy for the position to win this race. Even though Brandon Jones came out on top of the leaderboard after the green flag pit stops, Gragson had the better handling car to finish the deal.

Gragson has had a fabulous start to the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, scoring a 3rd-place finish at Daytona International Speedway, back-to-back runner-up finishes at Auto Club Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and now a victory at Phoenix Raceway to continue his top-3 finish streak.

Pole winner Trevor Bayne stole the race lead the race right from get-go; leading until the first caution came out on lap-33, which was just short of the Stage 1 end. After going back under green flag racing, Noah Gragson would fight side-by-side with Bayne for multiple laps until the stage end: Bayne would win, while Gragson would finish runner-up.

Gragson would glide into a fairly easy Stage 2 victory, claiming a valuable playoff point over teammate Justin Allgaier.

The only cautions to come out for an on-track incident were on laps 33 and 55: The first one for Riley Herbst losing control of his car, and then the last one for Ty Gibbs and Josh Berry making contact on the restart heading into Stage 2, causing Gibbs to spin in traffic. Otherwise, the race ran mostly under green flag conditions, as the final stage would run a straight 101-laps to the finish.
