Pennzoil has been a longtime partner of Team Penske, in multiple racing series outside of their NASCAR team. The motor oil company has stayed the "anchor sponsor' for the No. 22 Ford ride since the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, riding along with drivers such as: Kurt Busch (2011 Season); AJ Allmendinger, Sam Hornish, Jr. (2012 Season); and most recently, Joey Logano (2013 Season to present).
The new Pennzoil paint scheme (See Image above) hasn't changed much. The yellow-colored No. 22 now has less red contrast due to the new number placement, leaving no room for the Penske trademarked "Scallops". There is really nothing wrong with this new scheme, but there could so many options to make the scheme a lot sharper, and to stand out at the track.
Joey Logano will start off his season in this yellow No. 22 in the "Busch Light Clash" at the L.A. Coliseum, this Sunday, February 6th. Live television coverage of the main event will start at 8 PM EST on FOX Sports 1.
