Kaulig Racing unveiled on Tuesday afternoon (02/22/2022) that Poppy Bank will join Daniel Hemric as a partner in both his NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series rides this weekend at Auto Club Speedway. The length of his sponsorship deal is unknown, as it appears to be a single race sponsorship in both NASCAR National series races at Auto Club Speedway.
The longtime supporter of Hemric's NASCAR career appeared to be cutting ties with the driver after a one-year contract with Joe Gibbs Racing, ending after the 2021 season. With no long-term sponsorship deal, JGR would not extend the contract with Hemric, leaving him without a ride for 2022. Daniel Hemric would pull off the unbelievable, in a last lap pass for the race win at Phoenix Raceway, also winning the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship. The victory was Hemric's first-ever NASCAR National Series win.
Even though sponsorship was unknown, Kaulig Racing would go ahead and sign Hemric to pilot the No. 11 Chevrolet Camaro for their NASCAR Xfinity Series operation, with a few races in their NASCAR Cup Series part-time car in 2022.
