Upon the finish of qualifying for the "Great American Race", drivers Jacques Villeneuve and Noah Gragson will officially take part of the 2022 "Daytona" 500 lineup. This race for both drivers is their first-ever "Daytona" 500 start, also being Gragson's first NASCAR Cup Series start, while Villeneuve will make his 5th.

While 36 of the regular 40-car field have a charter to confirm their place in NASCAR Cup Series race lineups, that leave four other positions to make the event. Any other entries will have to rely on single car qualifying to make the race. With the 42 cars on the entry list for the 2022 "Daytona" 500, means that 2 cars will not make the final event. The two fastest non-chartered teams during regular qualifying will make the main event, while the remaining 4 will fight in the Duels (02/17/2022) to determine who advances.

While not inside the top-10 fastest, Gragson rounded off as 33rd fastest and Villeneuve ended up as 36th fastest.

The "Bluegreen Vacations" Duels at Daytona International Speedway will take place on Thursday, February 17th. Live coverage of the Duels will begin at 7:00 PM EST on FOX Sports 1.
