Joe Gibbs Racing unveiled Monday afternoon (02/14/2022) that Drew Dollar will make four NASCAR Xfinity Series starts with the organization in 2022. The ARCA Menard's Series and part-time NASCAR Truck Series driver will make his debut at Daytona International Speedway, driving the No. 18 Toyota Supra.

Joining Trevor Bayne as a driver of the No. 18 car, Dollar becomes the second confirmed pilot of the JGR "Star Car". Dollar will run alongside of JGR teammates Brandon Jones and Ty Gibbs in all of the superspeedway races on the 2022 schedule.

  1. Daytona International Speedway (Saturday, February 19th)
  2. Talladega Superspeedway (Saturday, April 23rd)
  3. Daytona International Speedway (Saturday, August 26th)
  4. Talladega Superspeedway (Saturday, October 1st)

Dollar has started in eight NASCAR Truck Series events during the 2021 season, scoring a top-10 finish at Daytona International Speedway. He also has a single ARCA Menard's Series victory to his name, coming at Talladega Superspeedway during the 2020 season.

It is worth noting that Dollar becomes the first driver to sit in the reigning NASCAR Xfinity Series champions ride, as the eventual 2021 champion Daniel Hemric would not return to JGR for 2022. Hemric drove the No. 18 to victory lane once at Phoenix to clinch the championship trophy, making it all the way through the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs on points.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series "Beef. It's What's for Dinner" 300 will take place on Saturday, February 19th. Live television coverage will begin at 5:00 PM EST on FOX Sports 1.
