Greg Biffle to attempt 2022 Daytona 500 with NY Racing

NY Racing
It was abruptly announced on Monday morning (02/14/2022) that retired NASCAR Cup Series veteran Greg Biffle will return behind the wheel in the upcoming "Daytona" 500.

The race team, NY Racing, has made a grand total of 17 NASCAR Cup Series starts since 2012, obviously running a highly inconsistent schedule, with more DNF's than finishes. Heading into the 2022 "Daytona" 500, there is a chance that they could beat the teams record highest finish of 32nd with Greg Biffle driving. NY Racing's highest finish (32nd) which came in the 2015 "Daytona" 500.

NY Racing will field the No. 44 Chevrolet Camaro, which was built in the Richard Childress Racing shop, as originally leaked on social media a few days ago by one of the employees working on the car. Of course, the post would be shared around, until it really wasn't "new" news.

Greg Biffle, who drove on a full-time basis in the NASCAR Cup Series from 2003 to 2016 with Roush Racing, piloting the No. 16 Ford. Scoring 19 victories in 510 starts, picking up 92 top-5's and 175 top-10 finishes.

This will be Biffle's fourth ever, racing organization to race for under the NASCAR Cup Series banner: Previously driving for Roush Racing (Roush-Fenway Racing), with short stints at Petty Enterprises, and Andy Petree Racing.

Sponsoring the No. 44 Chevrolet Camaro is Grambling State University and Urban Edge Network/HBCU League Pass. This entry is one of 6 un-chartered race teams, only four of which will make the "Daytona" 500 event.

The 2022 "Daytona" 500 will take place on Sunday, February 20th. Live television will begin broadcasting at 2:00 PM EST on FOX.

Stay tuned to the Stock Car Media site and social media pages for any of the latest Practice and Qualifying results!
