For the first-time in his NASCAR Cup Series career, Brad Keselowski will come out victorious in the Duel races at Daytona International Speedway. He won the first of two 2022 Duel races on Thursday, February 17th, racing his co-owned No. 6 Ford Mustang.
The first 60-lap qualifying race to set the official race lineup for the "Daytona" 500 went completely caution free, with drivers pitting a little over half-way to go. Drivers Kyle Larson, Ryan Blaney, and eventual race winner Keselowski were the only drivers to hold the lead.
Kaz Grala barely made the pass on another non-chartered race car driver JJ Yeley to make the "Daytona" 500 lineup, as he needed to finish higher than Yeley as Noah Gragson had clinched via speed.
