Cole Custer gets new Haas Tooling paint scheme for the 2022 season

Lionel Racing
It was revealed Wednesday evening (1/5/22) that Stewart-Haas Racing will update the look of their Haas Tooling No. 41 Mustang for 2022, as they comply with NASCAR’s new number placement rule changes. This paint scheme has not yet been released by Stewart-Haas Racing, but Lionel Racing began accepting pre-orders for a new die cast featuring the paint scheme above. Lionel Racing frequently receives notice of new paint scheme before teams publicize the changes.

Haas Tooling, a CNC company owned by Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner and founder, Gene Haas, has been in business since 1983. The company creates machines and parts for the purpose of manufacturing and precision crafting. As the company has for a handful of years, they will once again ride aboard the No. 41 car in 2022, sponsoring Stewart-Haas Racing’s driver, Cole Custer.

In August of 2021, NASCAR reviewed the news that teams would be required to bring their door numbers forward for the 2022 race season. Because of that, you will see a paint scheme, that has been almost un-touched for the past few years, receive some significant changes, and intimately move the No. 41 door number underneath the A-pillar.

Cole Custer, a now growing star in the NASCAR Cup Series beholds the title “Sunoco Rookie of the Year” after winning a race in only his first season, coming at the final NASCAR Cup Series at Kentucky Motor Speedway. Since then Custer has seen disappointing performance in 2021, as Stewart-Haas Racing as an organization experienced some tough luck, as rule changes left them stranded for almost an entire season. Cole Custer may not have scored a win in 2021, but neither did his teammate NASCAR Cup Series Champion, Kevin Harvick. Although Harvick came close to winning, and is a veteran in the sport, Custer will have the 2022 season to prove his worth.
