Bayley Currey, a 25-year-old race car driver from Driftwood, Texas, will be returning to JD Motorsports (with Gary Keller) in 2022. Simultaneously, Currey will be making his first full-time attempt in any of NASCAR’s top-three series.

Among 116 starts, Bailey Currey has driven in the NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Camping World Truck Series. In the NASCAR Cup Series, Currey competed in a total of 12 races throughout the past three seasons, all behind the wheel of Rick Ware Racing’s equipment. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, statistics are somewhat more impressive for Currey, as he has made 70 starts in the series, and has driven for a variety of owners, with a variety of results.

It’s safe to say that the stability of getting behind the wheel on Johnny Davis’ race cars will allow for more impressive results for the young driver. Bailey Currey’s best NASCAR Xfinity Series start came in the JD Motorsports’ No. 15 Camaro, where he finished 7th on the “Call Before You Dig” 200 at Phoenix Raceway in March of 2021.

Bayley Currey commented on this deal, saying Mr. Davis took a chance on me and gave me an opportunity late in the season last year. The relationship progressed and eventually turned into a full-time ride this year. Throughout the off-season we have been putting in a ton of work to get our fleet of cars ready to compete for 2022. Daytona can’t get here soon enough!”

JD Motorsports (with Gary Keller) made it evident that Currey will join the team with a full array of sponsors in 2022, but noted that sponsorship information will be made public at a later date.
