It was announced moments ago at Charlotte Motor Speedway that Sheldon Creed, current driver of the No. 2 GMS Silverado, and future driver of the No. 2 RCR Camaro, will gain sponsorship from Whelen Engineering for his 2022 ventures with Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Richard Childress Racing, a familiar name in NASCAR and a fan favorite team announced earlier this week that Whelen would sponsor Austin Dillon this weekend at the Charlotte ROVAL, utilizing a similar paint scheme to the one seen above. Sheldon Creed currently drives the No. 2 Silverado for GMS Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, but with eight career wins Creed has his sights set on a bright future, one that involves the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
It was also announced a few weeks ago that Sheldon Creed would be joining Richard Childress Racing for the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, but up until now it was unclear of what would happen to Myatt Snider in response to the addition of Sheldon Creed. It has now been announced that Myatt Snider, the son of NASCAR on NBC analyst Marty Snider will remain with Richard Childress Racing as a part of their development program, but no official release of his 2022 plans has been made.
