Pre-Race Predictions: Nashville Superspeedway

The "Ally" 400 on Father's Day Weekend, will be the first, ever NASCAR Cup Series race held at Nashville Superspeedway.

Even though the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Truck Series ran here at Nashville from 2001 to 2011, the NASCAR Cup Series has never run the 1.33 mile track in "Music City".

Only 5 of the current Cup drivers have ever scored a win at Nashville Superspeedway. These include:

  • Kyle Busch - 1 Xfinity win (2009); 2 Truck wins (2010, 2011)
  • Brad Keselowski - 2 Xfinty wins (2008, 2010)
  • Kevin Harvick - 2 Xfinity wins (2006, 2010)
  • Joey Logano - 1 Xfinity win (2009)
  • Austin Dillon - 1 Truck win (2011)

I could very well just pick these 5 drivers as ones to watch for this weekend’s race, but not all of them will make it to my short list of my predicted winners.

One's to watch for the win at Nashville:
  • Kevin Harvick [No. 4 Ford / Stewart-Haas Racing] - We haven't seen much of last year's 9-time winner. Will Harvick win for the first time this season, and become the first ever Cup Series driver to win at Nashville?
  • Kyle Busch [No. 18 Toyota / Joe Gibbs Racing] - With 3 wins here combined, could the "Candy Man" take home a sweet victory this weekend?
  • Brad Keselowski [No. 2 Ford / Team Penske] - Keselowski's last win was on a superspeedway. That doesn't mean anything, but will that help him get to victory lane?
  • William Byron [No. 24 Chevrolet / Hendrick Motorsports] - Byron is having a very good, but quiet season. This track would be a decent track for his 3rd career Cup victory.
  • Kyle Larson [No. 5 Chevrolet / Hendrick Motorsports] - With his incredible winning streak, will Larson pull another win off?

A few other driver's to keep an eye on:
  • Tyler Reddick [No. 8 Chevrolet / Richard Childress Racing]
  • Aric Almirola [No. 10 Ford / Stewart-Haas Racing]
  • Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. [No. 47 Chevrolet / JTG Daugherty Racing]

The "Ally" 400 will take place on Sunday, June 20th. Live coverage will start at 3:30 PM EST on NBCSN.

Did I miss a driver, that you think could win the first, ever Cup race at Nashville Superspeedway. Please place you pick in the comments below!
