It was announced Monday Morning (5/17/21) that this weekend at Circuit of the Americas, ThorSport racing will field a fifth entry in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, with NASCAR veteran Paul Menard behind the wheel.
While Paul Menard has only made 6 NASCAR Truck Series starts (5 in 2003, and 1 in 2007), he boasts a 16 year career in both the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series. In the Xfinity Series, Menard has scored 3 victories, and 43 Top-5s in 220 starts, alongside 1 victory and 69 Top-10s in 471 Cup Series starts. Paul Mendard most recently drove the Wood Brothers Racing No. 21 until retirement in 2019 (when he tapped Matt DiBenedetto to drive for the team).
Mendard will drive the No. 66 ThorSport Racing Toyota Tundra, receiving sponsorship from Mattei Compressors. Mattei Compressors is a company that manufactures rotary vane compressors, for commercial, industrial, and OEM and transit purposes. This company’s compressors are designed to be extremely efficient, and boost cost savings.
You can catch Paul Menard make his return, this Saturday, May 22nd, during the “Toyota Tundra” 225 at Circuit of the Americas. Race coverage will begin at 1:00 PM ET, and will be aired live on FOX Sports 1.
