Myatt Snider in the Richard Childress Racing No. 2 Camaro has won the Contender Boats 250 at Homestead Miami Speedway. This is Snider’s first NASCAR Xfinity Series victory.
This race showed the true racing talent of the many drivers in the NASCAR Xfinity series, starting off with plenty of competition, but few cautions. This pleasant start to the race eventually led to a more intense, and caution filled end of the race. One of the most notable incidents that occurred in the race was when the No. 7 of Justin Allgaier attempted to clear the No. 98 of Riley Herbst but failed as he clipped the No. 98 and was sent into the wall. Another notable moment was when with laps 3 to go the leader, Noah Gragson in the No. 9 came up upon a lap car, the No. 13 of David Starr, who was rapidly decelerating due to a flat tire. Gragson was just behind the No. 13 as this happened, and really had nowhere else to go. This would unfortunately end Gragson’s night as he slammed into the rear of the No. 13, and brought out the caution.
This race ended with 2 overtime attempts, this first overtime attempt due to the caution for Noah Gragson, and David Starr. The second attempt occurred due to a caution on the restart when A.J. Allmendinger in the No. 16 lost control of his car, but miraculously saved it, causing virtually no damage to the No. 16. After the final restart Myatt Snider and Tyler Reddick raced to the finish, with Myatt Snider pulling off his first victory and making his first trip to victory lane in the NASCAR Xfintiy Series.
AJ Allmendinger won stage 1, Austin Cindric won stage 2, and of course Myatt Snider won stage 3 of this race.
